Is ‘Fat Lady Gaga’ Really a Good Halloween Costume Idea?
Lady Gaga’s recent weight gain led to a lot of ugly ridicule, and this criticism made the singer decide to speak out about her days as a bulimic teen. So you would think that a Halloween costume poking fun at her weight wouldn’t be the best idea.
For one thing, Gaga doesn’t even look she gained very much weight, and she certainly doesn’t deserve to be labeled “fat.” It’s probably also not the best idea to make a joke out of someone who has suffered from an eating disorder – it would be horrible for them to feel pressure to revert to their old unhealthy habits because of a few cruel people.
However, that didn’t stop the International
Business Times from including “Fat Lady Gaga” on its list of the best Halloween costume ideas for 2012.
It’s easy enough to emulate Gaga since so many costume companies make replicas of her most outrageous outfits, and plenty of costume shops also sell fat suits. However, combining these two looks would probably hurt the feelings of plus size women who are out trying to have fun on Halloween – it’s not always easy to find fun costumes in larger sizes, and women who know the pain of looking for plus size costumes certainly wouldn’t appreciate seeing a thinner woman mocking their weight.
Luckily the IB Times also came up with some Halloween costume ideas that aren’t quite as cruel. There’s “Snoop Lion,” the new name that rapper Snoop Dogg has given himself. This look would be easy enough to pull off by combining a lion costume and a pimp costume. Big Bird costumes might also be popular this year since Mitt Romney mentioned the beloved Muppet during a debate. Since Romney threatened to cut funding for PBS, it would be funny to dress as an unemployed Big Bird by carrying around a sign that says “Will Teach ABCs for Food.”
Kristen Stewart has also made the list of popular costumes – Twihards that are still angry with her for cheating on Robert Pattinson might consider dressing up like a “trampire.” This wouldn’t be too hard to do since skimpy and sexy vampire costumes are popular every year. To make sure that other Twihards realize that the costume is supposed to represent Kristen Stewart, it should be accessorized with a Baltimore Orioles baseball cap (Robert Pattinson’s favorite hat that K-Stew always wears); messy, long brunette hair; and dirty Converse sneakers.
To dress like Honey Boo Boo, all that’s needed is a tiara, a pink sparkly dress, a chocolate-smeared face, and a stuffed pig to represent “Glitzy.” 50 Shades of Grey costumes could also be popular, and should be accessorized with grey neck ties, handcuffs, masquerade masks, and thigh-high stockings.
So will you be paying homage to Gaga, Honey Boo Boo, 50 Shades of Grey, “trampires,” or other pop culture phenomena with your Halloween costume?

Who faked Christina Aguilera’s ‘fat girl’ quotes?
Quotes from Christina Aguilera admitting she was a “fat girl” were made up, the singer’s reps say.

Chart-topping singer Christina Aguilera stars in the current issue of Billboard magazine to promote her new album, Lotus.
But what the pop star doesn’t do in the accompanying interview, despite several reports to the contrary, is comment on her weight and body image.
“The quotes are 100 per cent false,” Aguilera’s rep told Access Hollywood. “She never said them to Billboard and Billboard never printed or posted them. They are fake.”
Several outlets picked up on quotes purportedly made by Aguilera in the mag’s interview, which included The Voice star allegedly accusing record label bosses of putting pressure on her to lose weight during 2002 promotion for her album Stripped.
A selection of fabricated quotes initially appeared in an article on Us Weekly‘s site.
Aguilera was quoted as saying: “During the promotion of my album Stripped, I got tired of being a skinny, white girl.
“I am Ecuadorian but people felt so safe passing me off as a skinny, blue-eyed white girl.
“The next time my label saw me, I was heavier, darker and full of piercings! Let me tell you, that wasn’t an easy pill for them to swallow. I had gained about 15 pounds during promotion and during my Stripped tour [with Justin Timberlake].”
The 31-year-old singer was also quoted as saying execs had told her that the people she toured with would also miss out if she gained weight because she “would sell no records or tickets for my shows”.
“They called this serious emergency meeting about how there was a lot of backlash about my weight,” the fabricated quote continued. “Basically, they told me I would affect a lot of people if I gained weight – the production, musical directors.
“[They claimed] people I toured with would also miss out if I gained weight because I would sell no records or tickets for my shows. I was young, so I lost the weight quickly and was toothpick thin during Back to Basics promos and touring.”
However, according to the alleged quotes, Aguilera, for her upcoming new album, put her foot down and hit back at music execs.
“I told them during this Lotus recording, ‘You are working with a fat girl. Know it now and get over it. They need a reminder sometimes that I don’t belong to them.
“It’s my body. My body can’t put anyone in jeopardy of not making money anymore – my body is just not on the table that way anymore.”
But here’s the rub on the quotes: “She never said them,” the singer’s rep echoed to Entertainment Weekly.
The quotes in question do not appear in either the online story or the magazine, according to EW.
The website claims it traced the fabricated comments back to a reblogged Tumblr post.
While her body image quotes are total tosh, Aguilera did in fact dish some details about her new album in the Billboard interview.
“This album represents a celebration of the new me,” she told the mag, “and to me the Lotus has always represented this unbreakable flower that withstands any harsh weather conditions in its surroundings, that withstands time and remains beautiful and strong throughout the years.”
Aguilera recently released the music video for Your Body, the first single off her new album, which drops in November.

Robert Pattinson No Longer Fat–Kristen Stewart Pleased?
Twihards, rejoice. Robert Pattinson is no longer “fat.” Porcine Wendy Williams must now eat her words, and Kristen Stewart can breathe a sigh of relief, because RPattz has reportedly lost 10 lbs. And he’s done it all in only 23 days. You go, RPattz.
In early April, hefty talk show host Wendy Williams dissed the Twilight heart-throb, describing him as “pudgy and pale,” and suggesting that he join a gym and invest in some spray tan. Actually, La Williams might have done Rob a favor by criticising his body because he arrived at the Coachella Music Festival on April 22, looking trim and toned.
“It really looks like he’s snapped out of party mode and back into discipline mode,” opined weight loss expert Alicia Hunter. “Rob is young, so I bet it didn’t take a whole lot of work to get back that broad-shouldered, little washboard waist all of us Twi-hards have come to know and love.”
According to La Hunter, Rob has lost an estimated 10 lbs. most likely “through a combination of diet and exercise.” Duh. That’s the only foolproof way to do it.
“He probably dialed-down his empty carb consumption (read: less alcohol and late-night bar foods) and upped both his lean proteins and cardio,” Alicia continued. “Rob definitely looks like he’s been running on the beach and catching some waves… oh, and a shave!”
So there you have it. It looks like Robert Pattinson will have the last laugh on Wendy Williams who should take her own advice. The woman is a blimp. As for his lady-love Kristen Stewart, she’s probably ecstatic to have the man she fell in love with back–physically speaking. During their PDA Coachella weekend, she was probably all over him like the proverbial–well, you get the picture.
You can see before and after pictures of the newly trim Robert Pattinson and his former fat self by clicking here.
Enjoy.
Note to Wendy Williams: Get on that paddle board, Girlfriend. Or that stairmaster. Or something.
