Fat Joe’s ‘Pride N Joy’ Music Video Released
Fat Joe’s ‘Pride N Joy’ music video has debuted with the rap star accompanied by West, Busta Rhymes and more.
The new music video for rapper Fat Joe’s ‘Pride n Joy’ contains a slew of stars. The video was unleashed to the web for fans of the artist to see and features a line-up of Kanye West, Busta Rhymes, Ashanti, Jadakiss, DJ Khaled, and Miguel.
In the ‘Pride n Joy’ clip the singer donning a Versace jacket gives each one of his guests a moment to shine in the spotlight as he appears alongside them one at a time in the no frills video that was directed by Hype Williams. West also kept things simple, wearing a tank top that scored some laughs behind the scenes as he showed off the big guns. The song comes off of Fat Joe’s yet to be titled second studio album that he has been working on with the help of both Kanye and Mos Def, per MTV.
Unfortunately, Mos Def didn’t appear in the ‘Pride n Joy’ video due to a scheduling conflict. When asked why Fat Joe got everyone together for the video (where a lot of fun was rumored to have been had on set) Khaled answered, “That’s the Don,” Khaled said. “We all love Joe. He’s our brother. It’s all about that unity.”

Fat Joe & Kanye West Went Back To Native Days For 'Pride' Anthem
News: Fat Joe Kanye West Went Back To Native Days For ‘Pride’ Anthem
Thursday, Jun 7, 2012 4:05PM

Terror Squad leader Fat Joe recently discussed putting together his “Pride N Joy” collaboration alongside Kanye West and just how far back they took it with their star-studded anthem.
Thinking back a few decades, Joe compared the song’s creation to tracks made by Native Tongues, which consisted of crews like De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest collaborating together.
“That’s exactly what it was,” Fat Joe said of the song’s Native Tongues comparisons. “It was like Native Tongues, it was like crazy, everybody was in there, and that’s what hip-hop is supposed to be.” The track was produced by Kanye West and brought Miguel, Roscoe Dash, Jadakiss, Mos Def, Busta Rhymes and DJ Khaled all together in the studio. It was Yeezy who put the plan in motion. (MTV)
Last week, Joey Crack hinted at some in-studio differences he had with Ye when constructing the record.
“There’s some other real dope parts of that song that we ain’t put on there,” Joe reveals. “But, you know, he’s Kanye West. He’s a genius. He’s the best. I argued with him a little, but I let him lead the way, so that’s how it is. There’s no way in the world you’re gonna get everyone to sing on beat. N*ggas just said, ‘We’re not singers.’ And he was like, ‘That’s the dope sh*t.’ We off beat. We ain’t no RB n*ggas. We singin’ that sh*t off beat.” (XXL Mag)
The Bronx Bomber also gushed about having a fellow rap veterans on his record.
“I’m honored to work with Kanye of course, but I’ma say the biggest surprise on that record is Mos Def,” Crack revealed, about Yasiin Bey’s appearance. “I respect that guy a lot. I can’t believe he’s on a Fat Joe record. [He's about] consciousness, I’m talking about f*ckin’ b*tches.” (XXL Mag)
Their star-studded collaboration emerged online out of the blue last month.
Once again, Bronx, NY rapper Fat Joe is giving us a sneak peek into his upcoming as-yet-untitled 11th solo album via a new guest-packed track. Dubbed “Pride and Joy,” the song’s guestlist is impressive, to say the least, with everyone from Kanye West, Mos Def and DJ Khaled to Miguel, Jadakiss, Roscoe Dash and Busta Rhymes making an appearance. The song was produced by BINK! and co-written by Rico Love. (Exclaim)

Fat Joe Calls Signing Q-Tip ‘The Smartest Thing Kanye West Ever Did’
Fat Joe has seen it all. The Don Cartagena has clocked in more than 19 years in the rap game and rubbed shoulders with some pretty iconic hip-hop figures, so when studio pictures of him, Kanye West, Jadakiss, Mos Def (now known as Yassin Bey) and Busta Rhymes hit Twitter last week, Joey chalked it up as another one for the record books.
“Hip-hop moments, that’s it. It was just a back-in-the-days hip-hop moment,” Joe Crack told MTV News after a taping of MTV2′s upcoming “Hip Hop Squares.” “For, like, a whole week, we’ve just been vibing, everybody’s been vibing with each other, and it’s a beautiful thing.”
Though he wasn’t in the pictures, Joe confirmed Q-Tip was also in those vibing sessions. It’s no secret that Joey Crack is a fan of the former A Tribe Called Quest frontman, and he believes his recent deal with Yeezy’s G.O.O.D. Music will further cement ‘Ye as a musical genius. “Smartest thing Kanye West ever did,” Joe said of the signing.
The Bronx, New York, MC wasn’t completely forthcoming about what he has cooking with West and company. Still, Joey did liken the interaction to the days when he would randomly pop up in music videos with 1990s rap staples like Black Sheep, Das EFX and Lord Finesse. “I’m in every Lord Finesse [and] Das EFX video, so it just felt like back in the days, every hip-hop head in New York City getting together with Kanye,” he said. “We were discussing hip-hop politics, who’s hot, who’s the new, who’s this, who’s that, and we just had an amazing time.”
In February, Joe told MTV News he was a pretty big Yeezy fan, but the two have never worked together. Whether we’ll ever hear some type of collaboration remains to be seen. “You seen every rapper in that picture, but once you seen Fat Joe in there, you already know what it is,” he said. “You already know it’s official. Everybody’s joining forces, everybody’s vibing with each other, and look, Q-Tip’s on G.O.O.D. Music — that’s a beautiful thing.”
What do you think of Q-Tip’s signing to Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music? Tell us in the comments!
